BLACK HORSE VIDEO GAME COMPETITION
This year, we are once again striving to offer unusual, subversive, and provocative titles. Last year was fruitful in this regard, so it was with difficulty and a heavy heart that we selected the final six. On behalf of the entire selection team, we hope that you will find it just as difficult and painful to choose the winner.

CURATORIAL TOUR | WED | 10/08/25 | 6:00 PM | PIĄTY DOM
Mouthwashing | Wrong Organ | 2024
Wrong Organ studio proves how skillfully it can use surrealistic themes; this time it tells a convincing story that, in the emptiness of space, hell is other people.
Funeralopolis - Last Days | BananaDevJeff | 2024
What impressed us about Strange Scaffold's production was how drastically different the reception of the first few minutes of the game could be among festival participants, depending on their gender and socialization.
Velvet 89 | Charles Games | 2024
Not all creators would be able to use the mechanics of a charming and somewhat bizarre combination of Hidden Objects and puns to tell the story of the emotionally charged days of the Velvet Revolution – Charles Games managed it.
Funeralopolis - Last Days | BananaDevJeff | 2024
The combination of a Silesian city from the 80s and a cosmic horror story should be tempting enough, but if that doesn't pique your interest, you can add atmospheric graphics inspired by the PS1 era and difficult neighbours in a block of flats to the mix.
Many Nights a Whisper | Deconstructeam, Selkie Harbour | 2025
Deconstructeam, a frequent nominee of this competition, returns with a new game, this time departing from the safe waters of two-dimensional pixel art in favour of stylised three-dimensional graphics and, as always, difficult choices that reveal more about ourselves than we would like.
Drop Duchy | Sleepy Mill Studio | 2025
Drop Duchy, as a game from a studio created by a veteran of the AAA market, might be surprising in its simple yet mechanically deep design. Similarly, its place among other nominees will be surprising for some, but if you give it a moment (which will sneak up on you and turn into hours), you won't be surprised anymore.
