About Ars Independent Festival
Multimedia and popculture festival of films, animations, music videos and video games, hosted in the city of Katowice, which is located in the Upper Silesian Voivodeship of Poland. Under the Black Horse flag - a symbol of an unexpected winner, a reference to the protofilm experiment of madman Eadweard Muybridge, an ironic commentary on the golden fauna of film awards, or a reference to the mining heritage of Upper Silesia. Movie screenings, digital games exhibitions, concerts and live acts, meetups and discussions - Ars Independent is an open-formula festival.
The event is organized by the culture institution Katowice the City of Gardens and Silesia Film Institution.

Katowice City of Gardens
A cultural institution of the city of Katowice. It organizes, among others, the “I Love Katowice” City Anniversary, the Katowice JazzArt Festival, the Sound Gardens World Music Festival, Street Art AiR and the “Interpretations” National Festival of Directing Art. It has won the title of UNESCO City of Music for Katowice and, by implementing the membership program of the Creative Cities Network, supports the development of musical creative industries by giving young artists the opportunity to develop their talent in the MusicHub incubator, promoting them as part of the Dzielnica Brzmi Dobrze (The District Sounds Good) project, by expanding the competences of people from the industry during meetings of the Katowice Music Radar or co-financing the best projects with Music Grants.
Silesia Film
Silesia Film is a cultural institution of the Silesian Voivodeship Self-Government. Silesia Film is classics and the latest film premieres straight from world festivals. Film education and workshops for young viewers. Grand premieres of films co-produced by Silesia Film and meetings with their creators. Special screenings aimed at seniors, young parents, people with disabilities, lovers of classic cinema and fans of avant-garde films. Discussions and concerts.
